Najivunia Kuwa Mkenya
On Sunday the 6th of July, this was our theme for the service. We had asked everyone to come dressed in Kenyan attires or a cultural attire they liked. Some came dressed as Maasai's, other were dressed like the Swahili people, others were in Kitenge or Dashiki clothing. Some wore clothes made out of the Kenyan flag colors and I can tell you, the hall was full of color. The interior decor of the service had also been done to reflect the Kenyan colors and the place looked beautiful. The photos below will reflect what I am talking about. The theme of the service was derived from Acts 17:24-28, with the key verse being verse 26 and 27 which state, "And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us," The bottom line is, God created us and set our boundaries. In other words, He planned that we would be living in Kenya at such a time as this which therefore means He planned that we would be living in Kenya with a very clear reason, that we may seek Him from this land. We ought therefore to choose not to complain but to be a blessing to our mother land. To do our best to serve God and uphold His will here. Just imagine, if God be the one that planned for me to be living in Mombasa, then I should be about the business of running after doing His will here and being proud of my heritage than whining and complaining about everything. I praise God and thank Him also for my beautiful motherland. View some photos of the service below: [slideshare id=507610&doc=presentation2-1215700125439602-9&w=425]
