Goal Setting

In talking about Stewardship as the third principle in our "Exercising Your Way to Financial Fitness" campaign, the subject of goal setting came up. Many people find themselves in financial trouble because of the lack and need of goal setting.

Goal setting is an essential skill that everyone needs to have. Very few people however take the time to think about their goals for the future. Those that live their life with planning and setting goals experience greater success in life and those that do the planning coupled up with prayer and trusting God to help them in fulfilling their goals find fulfillment, happiness and joy.

There is power in goal setting that is unleashed when you start to live your life with a sense of purpose guided by God with a well-planned future. In studying highly successful people and their goal setting techniques, I have found that there are 7 keys to goal setting. All of these are important to the process of living your life to the fullest.

I will be looking at snapshots of each key in the coming weeks after the financial campaign at ICCM is over. for now, let me ask you. What are your financial goals? What are the long term goals and what are the short term goals? The goals you set become the motivation for you to pray and trust God for the days ahead. Set short term goals such as getting out of debt, purchasing a car, or buying household furniture. Long term goals are such as buying a house, saving for pension and other long term projects.

You can follow your dreams in life!

I wish you great success and happiness in life. May you fulfill your dreams and goals.
